You may want to start the car with the cap not in place so that it takes care of any air pockets and as soon as you have cleared that you will replace the cap immediately. Any drip you may notice will prompt you to check on the pipes and if you find them to be ok the culprit is likely to be that you never tightened the pump well enough, or may be it could be skewed tone side or perhaps you over tightened and caused a crack here and there.
